Legendary global dance music act Buraka Som Sistema, have spent the last decade influencing the electronic music world, bringing the sounds kuduro into the mainstream and putting the Lisbon music scene on the map. In celebration of their 10th anniversary, the five-person outfit will embark on one last tour followed by an indefinite hiatus. Stemming from insatiable fan requests, the tour will bring them to all the cities that Buraka had the most significant impact on. The band has chosen Colombia, England, The Netherlands, France, Germany, and the United States to make their final stops.
April 7-9, Buraka will bring their Lisbon beats to Los Angeles’ The Roxy, San Francisco’s 1015 Folsom, and finally, New York City’s Webster Hall. If unfamiliar with their live show, the band’s raucous performance has created an iconic reputation amongst fans and peers alike, with superstar producer Diplo citing the band as the direct inspiration behind his Major Lazer live show. Playing sold-out concert arenas, festivals including Glastonbury and Rosklide, and sweltering club nights alike, Buraka have established themselves as one of the most quintessential acts in modern electronic music.
Over the last few years, the group was responsible for more than 800 shows, 3 albums,1 EP and the creation of viral genre “zouk bass,” feats that would introduce the band to the entire world and establish them as a household name in thier native Portugal. The 2013 documentary ‘Off The Beaten Track’ provided additional insight into the band’s career and features exclusive interviews with collaborator M.I.A, Santigold, Skream, Diplo, and more.

ABOUT BURAKA SOM SISTEMA
The wild Angolan Kuduro beat started to burst in the Lisbon clubs in the last years and Buraka Som Sistema – AKA Branko, Riot, Conductor, Kalaf and Blaya – merged it with the electronic music from the 21st century, giving birth to a completely new sound. “From Buraka to the World” (2006), “Black Diamond” (2009) and “Komba” (2011), defined the bands’ path. In 2014 “Buraka” is released. The single “Stoopid”, directed by Vhils, has more than one million views and the journey by the Global Club Music is also done with themes like “Vuvuzela”, “Parede” and “Do Me Now”, amongst others.
